About
What this site is for
We're here to make sense of AI companion, chat, roleplay and image apps. The space moves fast, the features blur together, and most "reviews" just repeat marketing copy. We do something different: plain-language guides that tell you what actually matters.
Right now we've scored 21 apps out of 100, sorted them into categories and best lists, and we pick an app of the month. That's the core of what you'll find here.
How the scores work
Every app gets a score out of 100, built from 27 scored dimensions across seven pillars. Each dimension has an evidence note and source, and you can see the full breakdown on every review as a detailed scorecard. No hiding the methodology behind a paywall or a PDF.
We re-check all scores quarterly, and any changes get logged right on the page. You can follow the full scorecard on every app page reached from the best-of lists.
No platform pays for a score, a rank, or a listing. Some links carry referral tags, but those tags never affect a score. The number is the number.
Where we get our facts
We pull from two places: every platform's own documentation, and the pages that rank on Google for the category. Both sources get distilled into that shared evidence base, then mapped to those 27 dimensions. If it's on the scorecard, you can trace it back to where it came from.
Who's behind it
Founding editor is Scott Dommett. He's spent two years inside this category as a paying user of most of the products we cover, not as a developer or marketer. If you want to reach him, use the contact page.
Fixing mistakes
Scores get stale, facts shift, and we can miss things. If you spot something off, [email protected] goes straight to us. We log every correction on the page where it happened, so you can see what changed and when.
What we stay away from
This is adults only. Any platform that permits content involving minors or non-consensual imagery of real people gets excluded and reported. That's not a preference, it's a hard line. If an app crosses it after we've reviewed it, the review comes down and we say why.
