What it is

Mage.space is a browser-based app for making AI images and videos. Nothing to download. You open a tab, sign up, and start generating. The app runs in the cloud, so your computer’s specs do not matter. It works on any device with a web browser, though there are no dedicated mobile apps.

The platform sits somewhere between a playground and a professional tool. Beginners can jump in with simple prompts. Experienced creators get ControlNet, inpainting, LoRAs, and model fine-tuning. Everything stays private unless you choose to share it.

What you can do with it

You can make still images, animate them into video, or generate video from text alone. The image side covers a huge range: Stable Diffusion variants, Flux, Flux 2, Krea 2, Z-Image, and exclusive models with names like Mango and Guava. You can upload a reference face and keep that character consistent across dozens of generations. You can swap outfits, relight scenes, and build characters from attributes or muse images.

Video goes up to 11 seconds at 2K resolution if you pay for the Max tier. Motion Control lets you animate characters with more precision. There is image-to-video, text-to-video, and a simple animate option. You can enhance images up to 4K. Multiple LoRAs stack together, up to five at once.

The app uses two currencies. Members get unlimited generations on select models. Everyone, including free users, spends Gems for on-demand access to any model. You start with 300 free Gems.

What it’s good at

Value stands out first. The Basic tier costs $10 per month and unlocks unlimited generations on supported models. That undercuts Midjourney and beats trying to run Flux locally on expensive hardware. Speed improves on paid tiers, with Fast Mode pushing things 5 to 15 times quicker.

Character consistency is a genuine strength. Upload one reference image and the app keeps that face recognizable across stills and motion. For creators building series, comics, or branded content, this saves enormous time.

The model variety is another win. You are not locked into one engine. Want photorealism? Try Flux or Krea. Prefer anime? There are options. The exclusive fine-tuned models give flavors you will not find elsewhere.

Privacy and rights matter too. Your creations stay hidden by default. You can use them commercially without attribution. That is unusual and welcome.

Where it falls short

The Gem system has a catch. Membership Gems expire monthly. You either use them or lose them. This creates pressure that feels unnecessary for a subscription product.

Video power is heavily gated. Motion Control, the longest durations, and highest resolutions need the $200 Max tier. That is a huge jump from the accessible $10 Basic plan. Casual video experimenters will feel the wall.

There is no chat, no companion features, no memory or roleplay. This is purely a media generation app. If you want an AI character to talk back, you need something else entirely. The web-only approach also means no offline work and no native mobile experience.

Content boundaries exist. The app allows creative freedom but draws lines at illegal material. It does not market itself as uncensored. Some users want zero restrictions. For that, local tools remain the only true option.

How much it costs

Free: $0 with 300 Gems to start. You can test any model by spending Gems. No subscription required.

Basic: $10 per month. Unlimited generations on select models, 2x speed, 500 monthly Gems.

Pro: $30 per month. More Gems, faster speeds, broader access.

Pro Plus: $60 per month. Custom model import unlocks here, plus more Gems.

Max: $200 per month. Motion Control video, up to 2K resolution, 11 second duration, 15,000 Gems, and the full feature set.

Cancellation goes through Stripe and is straightforward. Upgrades get pro-rated. Refunds are generally not given because of the unlimited nature, though extraordinary circumstances get considered.

Is it right for you

Pick Mage.space if you want affordable unlimited image generation, need consistent characters across projects, prefer working in a browser, or require commercial rights without attribution hassle. It suits digital artists, content creators, and small studios who value variety and privacy.

Skip it if you need AI chat companions, want fully uncensored generation, or require native mobile apps. Also skip if your budget cannot stretch to $200 for serious video work, since the lower tiers hold back the best motion features.
